Better late than never....
So, I am not a fan of this kind of psychological tests and stuff. I am a big skeptic. With that said, I have to accept that this one was kind of accurate. I am very optimistic and patient, and definietly like working with others, while at the same time don't like change and I am not very objective about my decisions. I guess I am a little like what it says, although I also think that the "I" and the "S" can be a little contradictory in some points. Anyways, I think it is a little helpful to know this kind of things about someone, specially when you have to work with them. It gives you a sense of what to provide or prevent in order for the person to be and feel in a succesful and productive environment, or rather react this way to any environment. Nevertheless, I do have to say that this also presents a certain danger. With all of those very specific personality traits, one can fall into the temptation of putting people into that box, and then not be ready for surprises. I am a firm believer of people being able to change.

About the blogs...
There is so much to say about the blogs, but at the same time so little. Is not that I don't like the blogs, but that I do like them. I like the fact that it is a creative way of expressing yourself and communicating with others in class about class activities and all. However, this is where I have a problem with the blogs. One has to do too many! I mean in terms of responding to other blogs, a minimum of 3 to even 5 sometimes is a lot of writing and thinking, there is only so much one can write about the same thing. Maybe if we had to do less responses...that would do. I really do like that it is a unique way of maintaining class communication. With such a big class, it is almost impossible to get the thoughts of everyone on class activities, so the blogs come in handy there. I think they can work better with some minor changes, like the responses.
I really dont think I wil continue writing on my blog after the end of this class. Simply put, I don't like putting my thoughts or myself out there in the public sphere of internet. But I got to say, it was an interesting experience.

Vision!!
My vision of the future in five years is really simple:
1) I am going to be an economics professor in a college.
2) I will be working for an international enterprise doing corporate analysis.
3) I will have a car and house of my own in the Dominican Republic.
Action steps:
1) I am an economics major.
2) I am learning other languages.
3) I am trying to learn about leadership as much as possible.

During the decision-making exercise, there was a lot of conflict due to the fact that we needed to get 100% votes from over 80 people with a serious time constraint of one-hour. Th e fact that we had limited information to work with did not help at all. So, there was a lot undecisiveness and conflict of opinions. Personally, I handled the chaos by using the method of Accomodation, which means that I decided that the "issue was more important to others than" for me. This was because that's how I usually react (depending). With the curve, extra-credit and the option to waive the higher grade between the 2 midterms by 5% more, I was pretty much satisfied. So, the rest was just a little collaboration, which should have been more abundant, because it would have made things easier or rather less chaotic and more peaceful. But, I still think we reached a quite desirable result.

Eggs-cellent Way to Plan
My team definitely had a very good idea of what the objectives where and the limitations and challenges we were to encounter. We did think through different scenarios and models with their strengths and weaknesses, but we weren't very well organized, so a very GOOD idea got away unconsidered which costed us the success. Anyways, something else was that we didn't really think about the whole task distribution thing, I think that was one of the reasons we lost time, although it was obviously not the biggest one. We came about the actual execution with very little time and a lot of crazyness. So, revising plan and reconsidering was really out of the question in our execution process. We definitely did not do a good job, but I have to say it was interesting to see our individual reactions to this stretching challenge!
a little more about .....a lot!
Well, as you all probably noticed by now from the pretty picture, I am from the Dominican Republic. I came to the U.S. two years ago, with plans of getting a degree and going back to my little, pretty island. Hopefully, I'll graduate on time and actually be able to do that soon. I don't know if you noticed but my country is indeed nice. I know I am probably ethnocentric by saying this..but IT IS THE BEST COUNTRY IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!! ok..Now that I got that out of my system...I am aware that my country has problems in like almost all areas one could possibly think off: educational, health, governmental, environmental, etc. I am here in the U.S because the President of my country figured that if a good amount of dominican students (# ranging around the thousands) would go to different developed countries and get a worth while education in specificly needed fields, and go back to Dominican Republic to apply that knowledge; then the country would have a more prepared human resource to help with organizing and changing some stuff. Will see how all of that goes...ask me in about 15 years.
